Our team proudly offers innovative solutions for chemical sewer line root control and robotic high-pressure obstruction removal. With decades of experience and the latest technology, we ensure the highest standards in sewer maintenance.
Pacific Sewer specializes in chemical root control for sewer lines and robotic high-pressure pipeline obstruction removal. We use an herbicide foam to kill harmful tree roots that damage sewer pipes, and a robotic ultra-high pressure precision jet cutting system to remove concrete and other blockages.
We primarily serve the Pacific coast, but have taken on projects across the country, from Los Angeles to New York City. Any municipality that has trees will have sewer lines that are likely impacted by roots. We offer a more efficient, effective chemical root control method that prevents regrowth. Our innovative, robotic, high-pressure services can clear pipeline obstructions without digging or causing disruptions.
Pacific Sewer is the oldest provider of chemical sewer line root control services in the world. Since our start in 1979, that expertise has been the primary focus of our work. Pacific Sewer has treated more than 85 million linear feet of chemical sewer line root control in the western United States alone, including dozens of projects for municipal agencies, along with the world’s largest chemical root control contract with the City of Los Angeles.
We use a metam-sodium based foaming sewer root control product specifically designed with people and the environment in mind. This foaming formulation fills the entire pipe, entering gaps and cracks within the pipe to prevent roots from regrowth, and allows for up to 15 feet of coverage into laterally connected pipes.
In addition to our industry-leading chemical root control treatment, Pacific Sewer provides innovative, robotic high-pressure services to clear pipeline obstructions. With targeted, high-pressure water, this service physically removes obstructions — from large mass roots and grout to tuberculation or concrete — from a pipeline or confined space.
The system uses water pressurized up to 15,000 PSI in pipes ranging from 6 to 42 inches. The high-pressure water can break up the hardest concrete without ever using a grinding tool, and allows work on sewer lines without digging or causing major disruptions. The technology has allowed Pacific Sewer to service pipes under active airfield runways in Missouri, subway tunnels in New York, and busy city streets across the West Coast. For harder problems like metal tie-backs or grounding rods accidentally inserted through pipes, a hydraulically driven motor can be used for cutting and grinding.
Pacific Sewer can combine both services to robotically cut out large root masses within sewer pipes, then treat those root masses with a root inhibitor to prevent regrowth, extending the time between maintenance or needed repairs.
Every project is unique and comes with its own set of demands, challenges and solutions. Because of the unique nature of our work, each project is priced based on specific needs and conditions. Municipalities with smaller trouble areas are encouraged to identify multiple problem spots so our time spent on the job is most efficiently used.
Pacific Sewer is committed to fair pricing, only billing for time spent on the job. We strive to always provide our high-quality service at a reasonable rate.
Our sewer line root control projects are priced on a per-foot bid price and are variable for each contract. Pricing is based on the scope of work, the total length of large pipe requiring treatment, and the amount of work required in easements.
Our high-pressure pipeline robotic projects are priced on a day-rate basis. The day-rate is based on the type of material that needs to be removed and other site logistics. A mobilization fee may apply to jobs more than 80 miles from our Glendale, California headquarters.
From chemical sewer line root control to high-pressure robotic obstruction removal, we ensure the highest standards in sewer maintenance thanks to decades of experience and the latest technology. In addition to chemical sewer line root control, we offer pipeline robotic services:
